UPDATE: Three trucks involved in N4 collision

The Malalane road remains closed and the wreckage from the collision is being removed. TRACN4 said a stop-and-go has been put in place.

The Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison’s spokesperson, Moeti Mmusi, said three articulated trucks and a sedan were involved in a crash that claimed the life of one truck driver.

The crash occurred on the N4 between the Nkomazi Toll Plaza and Malalane just after midday today, August 29.

He said the cause of the crash is unknown at this stage. The road will be opened as soon as the emergency personnel and law enforcement officers finish processing the scene, which includes the removal of the wreckage.

“Motorists are meanwhile encouraged to be patient and to avoid driving in front of oncoming traffic,” said Mmusi.

Meanwhile, TRACN4 said a stop-and-go has been put in place while the recovery of the wreckage is ongoing.
