Young and old have fun during Winterveld Festival
Samancor Eastern Chrome Mines (ECM) hosted the event for locals to enjoy top entertainment.
STEELPOORT – After a two-year sabbatical due to Covid-19, the annual Winterveld Festival was held at the
Winterveld Recreational Club last weekend.
Samancor Eastern Chrome Mines (ECM) hosted the event for locals to enjoy top entertainment.
It was a great opportunity for informal traders as they managed to sell most of their goods, and there were ample
art and craft stalls.

An amusement park was built for the kids to have lots of fun. The festival was attended by people from far and wide, and there were numerous fun activities, ranging from tug of war, a braai competition, a soapbox derby to an exhibition rugby match between the rivals, the Rooikatte and Ratels.
The Currie Cup trophy was on display and the team’s coach, Jimmy Stonehouse, graced the festival.

Some artists who performed were Charne du Preez, Cordelia, Twisted, Angel de Lange, Bongi and Pedro Barbosa. DJs kept the crowd on their feet for the whole night.
Samancor ECM’s management thanked everyone who attended the event, and also thanked the sponsors and
the planning committee for staging the successful festival
