Night golfers chip in for fun
Several sponsors, local golfers and management of Samancor Eastern Chrome Mine (ECM) participated in the fun-filled sport.
Local golf players in Tubatse enjoyed an unusual experience when they participated in the night golf on Friday at the Winterveld Club in Steelpoort.
Like many times in the past, the night golf marked the start of the Winterveld Festival.
Several sponsors, local golfers and management of Samancor Eastern Chrome Mine (ECM) participated in the
fun-filled sport.

The players teed off at 17:30 and played through the night.
Mariska Stickling of ECM told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that since night golf was launched at the
club several years ago, it has brought enjoyment to hundreds of people.
She said all the participants were handed prizes for honouring the event and were excited about the sport being played in the dark.

During the night golfing, players use the amazing light-up golf balls. The LED infused balls light up in one of four colours when they are hit and stay alight for about eight minutes after each shot.
Also, there are lights embedded on the flags. Night golf was developed as a fun, innovative way of
furthering avid players’ game. Night golf is also great for people who find it hard to fit their golfing time into their busy schedule.
