Deon de Bruyn’s murder accused to face judgment
The seven accused in Deon de Bruyn's murder are expected to learn their fate on Friday September 23.
The family of murdered farmer Deon de Bruyn will have to wait one more day before judgment is delivered in the case.
De Bruyn (25) was shot and killed at Simonsvlei Farm in the Strydomblok area near Komatipoort on June 19, 2018.
He had been a manager of the farm at the time of the incident.

Seven men stand accused of De Bruyn’s murder and have been identified as Sifiso Madonsela, Solomon Msimango, Raul Mhlanga, Derrick Makamu, Oscar Chauke, Hendry Manonga and Fannie Mkhabela.
The seven accused were due to appear in the Mpumalanga High Court on Tuesday September 20 for judgment on the matter. However, due to load-shedding and the judge feeling unwell, the case was postponed to Friday September 23.
Lowvelder previously reported that De Bruyn and his employer, Estelle Jansen, who was 59 at the time, were overpowered by three balaclava-clad men on the night of the murder.

The reports indicated that the intruders had overpowered and bound a security guard and cornered De Bruyn before heading into the house. There they came across Jansen, whom they dragged out of bed.
It is alleged that the robbers fired shots wildly and one hit De Bruyn in the heart. Jansen was hit by several bullets, but survived the attack.
Her son, Elmer, scared off the attackers, who fled on foot.
De Bruyn’s family have been present at the Mpumalanga High Court during the trial and have been supported by friends and family.
