Naranja ensures residents have clean, drinkable water

BURGERSFORT – The community of Kopi has clean and drinkable water, thanks to Naranja Indigo Fruit Farming.

The villagers were officially handed a water project on September 16 by the management of Naranja.

Speaking to Steelburger/ Lydenburg News, Naranja’s Mohau Selepe said the community requested
their intervention on basic needs in 2021.

This was after they had experienced challenges with water and other necessities.

“Kopi Community Forum’s leaders approached the company last year, requesting assistance.
“We visited the village and realised that there was lack of drinking water at Kopi Primary School.”

He confirmed that they had installed pipes for ferrying water from the borehole to the school and
homes. They also built a tank stand and installed taps.

“We are glad to be making a difference in the lives of local communities. “During the
handover, the Naranja team also identified seven needy families to which we donated hampers
consisting of plastic baths, groceries, blankets and duvets.

“This is an indication that Naranja cares about the lives and the needs of local communities.”

Kopi residents, as well as the local tribal authority, applauded Naranja for this good gesture.
