New manager for Barberton Golf Club
This Barberton resident will henceforth manage both Barberton Golf Club and its kitchen.
Barberton Golf Club has a new manager at the helm, and so does The Putter’s Kitchen.
Amelia Joubert saw a tender to run the kitchen, and after extensive research, decided to submit an application for it.
Following her successful application, she then saw the manager’s position at the golf club being advertised, applied for it, and got the job.

“A lot of people asked me how I will be able to do both,” Joubert said. “The answer is easy. The one cannot grow without the other. I will have the required staff for the restaurant and if I can grow the membership of the golf club, it will have a positive influence on the restaurant.”
Her goal for the kitchen is to change it to a family restaurant where people can come and enjoy anything from pizza to a plate of traditional food.
“There is definitely a need for another sit-down restaurant in Barberton. At the same time, we will have a special menu for the halfway house for our golfers.”
She said Lowvelders may expect good- quality food, a nice relaxed atmosphere and excellent people.
“One of our goals of the golf club is to concentrate on increasing membership of the ladies. We will have weekly events and specials coming up.

“I stay in the Barberton Valley and I will concentrate on building relationships with our local businesses so we can work together to uplift our town and community. There is a lot of work ahead, but I have an excellent team behind me to make a success of my new journey.”
After four years in his post, the former golf club manager, Willie Müller, handed over the reins to Joubert on September 1.
He thanked the golfing community for the challenging opportunity of turning the golf club into a profitable business during the past four years, and wished Joubert and the committee all the best for the future.
