Mathabatha reshuffles his cabinet again
This is the second reshuffle by Mathabatha, who fired two cabinet members following his re-election as ANC provincial chairperson in June.
POLOKWANE – Less than three months after reshuffling his cabinet, Limpopo Premier Stan Mathabatha has once again axed three MECs.
On October 6, he fired social development MEC Dickson Masemola, who competed against him for the ANC chairmanship in June. The provincial top seat was won by Mathabatha.
He also axed Polly Boshielo from the Department of Transport and Community Safety, and Thandi Moraka from sports, arts and recreation.
The three new members to be added to Mathabatha’s cabinet are ANC Limpopo’s deputy chairperson, Florence Radzilani, ANC Limpopo treasurer Nakedi Sibanda-Kekana, and the chairperson of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, Rodgers Monama.
Radzilani was removed as Vhembe District Municipality’s mayor after being implicated in the alleged looting from VBS Mutual Bank. She was welcomed back into the provincial executive committee in 2020, when the national executive committee said she could continue in her role after she had stepped aside in 2018 and had not been criminally charged.

The swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed MECs was on Friday in the Office of the Premier in Polokwane.
