Steelpoort’s NAAC continue growing

The NAAC has more than 250 members with one aim: to keep fit. They have 14 branches in and around Steelpoort.

Forman Mankge’s dream of keeping most people in Steelpoort fit, is becoming a reality. His club, the Ngwaabe Athletics and Aerobics Club (NAAC), hosted another training session to celebrate Heritage Day.

The event was held at Maseven, Tigers sports grounds.

“We started the day with a 5km fun walk and we also had aerobics and indigenous games. Young and old took part in the activities that are beneficial to their health,” said Mankge.

“We are recruiting members on a daily basis; young and old are joining the club. We are also planning on doing sports such as netball, basketball and hockey
“I want to take the youth off the streets. We want healthy youths who are fit. Maybe the NAAC will encourage them to focus more on sport and to quit alcohol and drugs.”

Mankge thanked the sponsors and members of the community for coming in their numbers and taking part in the training sessions.

He also gave special thanks to the Lavita entertainment group, and the leadership of the club.
