BURGERSFORT – Mafadi Independent Academy held its matric dance at the Thaba Moshate Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort on September 29.

This was the school’s first ever matric dance and will be remembered for years.

The pupils were dressed to kill.

The Grade 12s did not disappoint as they arrived at the venue in five Mercedes-Benz Vianos.

The learners were dressed to kill in branded clothing and tuxedos, and were accompanied by their partners and their educators.

Among the guests were the school’s management team, board of directors and representatives of the Limpopo education department.

The motivational speaker for the day was a former Mafadi learner, Ditebogo Montjane, who advised the matrics to form study groups.

“It’s never too late to focus. Study in groups and get the best marks possible in order to be accepted by
institutions of higher learning.”

Mafadi’s Grade 12 Class of 2022, led by the head girl, Gomolemo Molapo, and head boy, Mojalefa Boloka,
promised to excel in their exams.

“We will do our best in the final exams. We are thankful to the school for helping us to organise the best and the first ever matric dance of Mafadi,” said Mojalefa.

Principal Lucas Selahle reminded the learners to fly the Mafadi flag high at tertiary institutions.

“Even when at varsity, you are still representing Mafadi. I want you to be at your best
behaviour to achieve all your goals.”

The event was concluded with a photoshoot and the matrics danced to celebrate the occasion
