Two pedestrians hit by vehicles in Lydenburg
A pair of pedestrians were hit by vehicles within a couple of metres of each other in two separate accidents in a week's time.

On Thursday October 20, a woman was hit by a car in front of Relay Jeans, on the corner of Voortrekker and Kantoor streets, and sustained minor injuries. It was alleged by a witness that a single-cab silver Toyota bakkie drove away from the scene after hitting the woman with his vehicle.
In another accident on Friday October 14, a woman was struck by a vehicle in front of the DisChem Pharmacy in Voortrekker Street.
She was putting files away in her vehicle’s boot. The parking bay behind her was empty, and a vehicle entered it to park, but did not stop in time, and hit her.
She had large lacerations on her legs and was assisted on the scene by emergency workers and Netcare911. Several of the pharmacy staff, who has medical training, also assisted.
The Thaba Chweu Local Municipality urged motorists to be vigilant around pedestrians.
