Limpopo SAPS appoints commander of media relations
Conferring the rank on Ledwaba and 13 other colonels appointed in other environments, the provincial commissioner in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, said these new appointments carry with them huge responsibilities that demand hard work.
On Monday Lieutenant Colonel Malesela Jonathan Ledwaba was conferred with the rank of colonel and appointed as the provincial commander of the media relations of the Limpopo SAPS.
Ledwaba takes over from retired Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, who left the police in March.
Conferring the rank on Ledwaba and 13 other colonels appointed in other environments, the provincial commissioner in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, said these new appointments carry with them huge responsibilities that demand hard work.
Ledwaba possesses vast experience in the environment of media liaison that spans 26 years.
“During the period when policing in Limpopo was still divided into four areas, which were led by the area commissioners, Ledwaba was the area head of communication and liaison services in the then Waterberg area.
“Before his appointment in that role, he worked in different environments such as community service centre, human resource management as well as visible policing,” said Hadebe.
Ledwaba has a wealth of experience acquired in the SAPS and has not shied sway from self-killing.
Having acquired a degree in police management from Unisa, he also empowered himself with knowledge and certificates in the media as well as events management.
This father of two is result-driven and likes to serve the community, something that brings him pleasure and satisfaction.
“I will continue doing what I do best, which is to work closely with communities and members of the media.”
