Still no word regarding flood projects’ funding in Mpumalanga

The National Disaster Management Centre has not given an estimated timeframe for when it will respond to Mpumalanga's request for funding to repair flood damages.

There has still been no response from the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) regarding the requested funding to repair flood-damaged infrastructure.

The spokesperson for the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Lindiwe Msibi, said officials co-ordinating the project have followed up with the NDMC.

“It confirmed that nothing has been decided as yet. We still have to wait for it to respond and grant us the R2.3b needed to repair damages,” Msibi said.
