Wanted man arrested with suspected stolen property in Hazyview

A suspect allegedly involved in numerous crimes will appear in court today.

A suspect (29), who had been found in possession of various items believed to have been stolen, is the man the Hazyview SAPS was looking for in connection with various cases of housebreaking and theft.

A provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, said the man had been arrested by the members of the Hazyview Detective Unit on May 25.”The suspect’s arrest in Shabalala Trust near Hazyview came as a breakthrough. He was nabbed after the police had received a tip-off. They believe that he could be of great assistance in resolving some of the cases being investigated.

“When he was apprehended, the suspect was reportedly found in possession of suspected stolen properties, which included electricity appliances such as TV sets, laptops and sound systems. “The suspect is expected to appear in the White River Magistrate’s Court today, May 26, facing a charge of possession of suspected stolen properties. More charges could possibly be added against the suspect as the investigation continues,” Mdhluli said.
