Limpopo police continue with manhunt for abducted businessman
A law enforcement team is working tirelessly to catch a group of suspects. The police have appealed to the public to assist in tracking them down.
The Limpopo SAPS is continuing with its manhunt for perpetrators who abducted a well-known businessman, Solly Tayob, in Burgersfort on June 2.
A team comprising members of the Organised Crime Investigation Unit, with the Burgersfort SAPS detectives and members of the Crime Intelligence Unit, is hard on the heels of the suspects and is also investigating cases of kidnapping, pointing of a firearm and attempted hijacking.
“It is reported that Tayob was standing at his filling station next to his Hyundai dealership when the incident occurred at about 19:30,” said the Limpopo SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba.
The abductors forced Tayob into a black Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI.
The police said the Golf drove away away from the scene followed by a white Mercedes-Benz, registration number 786 AGM L.
