Tommy’s World Fair promises family fun at Riverside Mall

The Winter Carnival Vintage Road Tour will be in the city until July 23.

The Winter Carnival Road Tour has landed at Riverside Mall.

With more than 10 carnival rides suitable for anyone, Tommy’s World Fair has promised more fun for parents and children for the duration of the Winter Carnival Road Tour.

Tommy’s World Fair’s director, Sanchez Chetty, said this is its second time in the Lowveld and it has come at the right time – the winter school holidays.

“We finished setting up the machines just in time for the long weekend. The amusement park is operational until July 23, but we might extend it. We are open every day when the mall opens and close at 20:00 on weekdays and 21:00 on weekends.”

Chetty said there is lots of family entertainment, such as the carnival rides, face painting for kids, competitions and no-entry-fee music concerts headlined by well-known musicians featuring local artists, and competitions.

“I want to make this year’s carnival bigger and better than the previous one. More rides are also on the way.”
As part of creating a legacy as an entertainment establishment, Chetty said he had partnered with the mall to identify and host 100 children from around

Mbombela for a free all-access fun day at the carnival.

“The kids will be spoiled with free rides, food and snacks for the whole day. We are focusing on children who live on the outskirts of Mbombela who do not come to Riverside Mall on a regular basis. We are still in the planning process and all details will be made available soon.”
