Babina Noko unveil new kit for the 2023/24 season

Sekhukhune United announced a new partnership with the Italian technical sportswear, Macron, for the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

Macron signed a three-year partnership with Babina Noko to become the team’s official technical sponsor starting this season.

The home and away kit gives a strong nod to a club that is always respectful of its tradition, reimagining the porcupine at the back and front of the jersey. Noko the Porcupine represents the cultural identity that resonates with the roots of Sekhukhune United.

Speaking about the deal, the club’s chairperson, Simon Malatji, said: “We are delighted to formally announce our new technical kit partner and supplier, Macron. It is a company with an Italian heritage, which partners with international clubs such as Crystal Palace, Armenia Bielefeld and Real Sociedad. It has marked its entry into professional football in Mzansi by partnering with Babina Noko. It is an ambitious sports brand known for its innovation in materials as well as its style, and we are pleased to be collaborating with them. We look forward to presenting the new kit to our supporters, and are sure they will love it.”

Macron’s CEO, Rassie Pieterse, was excited about the deal. He said the partnership with Babina Noko will produce many distinctive kit designs.

“Macron has been one of the leaders in Europe for several years. Being one of the official sponsors of the UEFA Champions League and many top clubs in the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A leagues and many more, Macron has been eager to find a club in SA that has the same drive and values as us, and we have found it in Sekhukhune. We are very excited about this partnership. The team has shown over the past few seasons that it means business. We are excited to see the fans’ reaction to the new jersey. We want the supporters to get behind the team. We wish Sekhukhune United FC all the best for the season.”
