Mohlala’s murder case to continue in the Polokwane High Court

The case against the Tubatse man who allegedly killed his partner will continue  next year.

Godfrey Kgomoeswana Mohlala allegedly killed his partner, Lilly Letta Motau, in Ga-Manoke on November 28, 2022.

Motau’s body was discovered with severe stab wounds at her home on November 28.

The murder happened during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender based Violence and Femicide
campaigns.

Mohlala was arrested in Praktiseer by the Burgersfort SAPS two days after the murder.

On Monday, the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court transferred the matter to the Polokwane High Court. The trial
is set from February 12 to 16, 2024.

Mohlala was remanded in custody.

The Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality’s mayor, Eddie Maila, condemned this incident when he visited the Motau family back in December.

“We condemn the senseless killing of defenceless people by men. We need justice for this woman. The culprit must rot in jail.”
