SPONSORED: Laramie Spur promises even greater family moments

The revamped Spur is under new ownership and aims to provide a unique experience with a fresh look and feel.

New look, new ownership, new experience.

This is the aim with the revamp of Laramie Spur in Lydenburg.

For more than five decades, Spur Steak Ranches have been committed to meeting the ever-changing needs of its customers – and this local steak ranch is no exception.

The entire inside of the restaurant is getting a refreshed look, promising new experiences and allowing for even greater moments of family dining. There are also exciting changes coming to the kiddies area early in March this year.

Chris van Rensburg is the new man in the hot seat for Laramie. He explains that he and his team are looking forward to forming part of Lydenburg as a whole and getting involved with the local community. “I have been in the restaurant industry since the age of 12. I started as a runner at Spur and had almost spent my entire life as part of the Spur family.”

Chris and his wife, Welma, decided to move from Mbombela to Lydenburg to be hands-on and ever involved with the newly revamped eatery.

“It really does become home. And that is what we would like to bring to this community: A family restaurant where you not only get superb food and service, but a place that makes you feel at home,” Chris explains.

When Spur Steak Ranches opened its first store in 1967, there was a vision: to create a new kind of restaurant; one in which kids weren’t only welcomed but celebrated. Above all, it was a vision of becoming the number one restaurant destination for South African families; a place with new rules, where sticky fingers were the sign of a meal well savoured and where spills were part of the thrills.

He said the greatest lesson he learnt during all his years at Spur is to look after your people and their community, and they will look after you.
