MALALANE – Water shortages in town, Hectorspruit, Marloth Park and Komatipoort have had the Nkomazi Municipality troubled but it seems as if good rain has come to the rescue. On Sunday morning the spokesman of the municipality, Mr Cyril Ripinga spoke to a SABC news reporter where he stressed the concerns regarding the low-water levels of the Crocodile and Komati rivers.
According to a Facebook post by Rob Marshall, a resident of Marloth Park, we have received around 14mm of rain for 24 hours till 06:00 Tuesday which is a total of 27mm since Friday at 18:00.
“This is a substantial amount and could bring the water levels back to normal. However, the rain has been a great help to re-establish water levels in reservoirs but they remain a concern. We urge the community to continue to use water sparingly,” said Ripinga.
