Mechanics in the CBD stand their ground once again

Although these mechanics are not in the public eye at the moment, it is said that they dissappear for a while, only to return and continue to provide their illegal and unsightly services in the parking areas.

While driving through the streets of the CBD, locals are well aware that obedience of the law is a rare occurance in some parts.  Since last year Neslpruit Post reported relentlessly on the decaying state of the Bester Street area.

One of the concerns was that mechanics illegally oprate here, leaving oil spills on the sidewalks of well-known businesses in the area.

Although these mechanics are not in the public eye at the moment, it is said that they dissappear for a while, only to return and continue to provide their illegal and unsightly services in the parking areas.

Last week, one of our readers reported that the man who ‘managed’ the mechanics, sat and supervised as they removed a gearbox from one of their customer’s vehicle, after working on it in the parking area in front of well-known establishments in the vicinity.

Business owners have become increasingly tired of complaining as their concerns fall on deaf ears.
