MBOMBELA – Produkta Nissan employees have been evacuated after they received an anonymous call of a bomb scare at 15:45.
“We think it is just a hoax, but to be safe, we evacuated the building,” said one of the directors of Produkta Nissan, Mark van Wyneersch.
The K9 Unit, SAPS, Mbombela Fire & Rescue, BCJ, EMS and bomb squad were summoned to the scene.
The intersection at Weir and Crystal Street were temporarily closed off for safety purposes, however, according to Jacques Meiring of BCJ, the area has been cleared and is now safe for road users.
