Alleged child killers’ bail denied in “Tonga case”

The case gained notoriety when a well-known advocate was assaulted after a court session in Tonga.

MBOMBELA – Community members from Mawewe were delighted when it was confirmed that the five men charged with killing three-year-old Lutricia Nkentjane would not be granted bail.

This outcome was given in the Nelspruit Regional Court today.

The victim, Nkentjane from Mgobodzi, went missing in November last year.  According to community members, she went to gather wood and never returned home.

Messrs Jabulani Ndlovu, Themba Mnyambo, Mabethela Louis Sithole, Sfiso Mazike and Mr Bongani Ngomane were arrested on November 29.

They appeared in the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court, Tonga on January 14.  The case was subsequentyl transferred to Mbombela, where outcome of Mnyambo and Sithole’s bail application was given.
