Annatjie Myburg-murder accused ‘a flight risk’

Senior state advocate, Ms Isabet Erwee, requested the accused be denied bail as the state believes he is a flight risk.

WHITE RIVER – The state opposed the bail application of one of the men accused of the murder of Ms Annetjie Myburg (58), today.

Mr Selby John Mabila (26) and Mr Paul Mathebula (27) appeared in the Magistrate’s Court for the hearing.

They are charged with murder, kidnapping and robbery with aggravated circumstances.

According to the magistrate, Mr Eddie Mabaso, Mabila withdrew his bail application.

Senior state advocate, Ms Isabet Erwee, requested that Mathebula be denied bail as the state believes he is a flight risk.

Mabaso postponed the matter to Friday.
