MBOMBELA – A head on collision between two taxis, claimed the life of one person this morning on the N4. According to Capt Dawie Pretorius, the incident occurred between Karino and Mbombela at around 08:30.
He said two taxis travelling from opposite directions collided with each other.
“One of the drivers of a taxi passed away at the scene from his injuries. Six people were seriously injured and rushed to Rob Ferreira hospital,”he said.
According to Pretorius, another twelve people sustained minor injuries. He said police have opened a case of culpable homicide and are investigating further.
He urged motorists to drive responsibly and obey the laws of the road.
