MBOMBELA – Mr Nick Wiesmann (76), a tourist from Switzerland, disappeared in the region’s botanical gardens last night.
Wiesmann was attending a wedding in the gardens.
According to his wife, Ms Bettina Wiesmann, he felt cold at about 18:15 and walked to the couple’s rental vehicle to fetch his jacket.
“We have not seen him since,” she said tonight at 21:00. Wiesmann said that her husband suffers from sporadic memory loss.
A team consisting of Bossie’s Community Justice’s (BCJ) Mr Albert Gryvenstein and members of Mpumalanga’s Off Road Rescue Unit (ORRU) and a paramedic searched the gardens last night, but had not found the man by 22:00.
