Two killed, four injured in bakkie crash near Kruger National Park
Authorities are investigating after a bakkie crashed into a tree near the Kruger National Park.
Two people died and four others were injured when a bakkie hit a tree along the R536 road near the Kruger National Park at about 15:00 on Thursday, September 11.
According to reports received, the bakkie was travelling towards Elephant Point when the driver lost control.
“The bakkie veered off the road and collided with a tree. It was a very bad sight,” said Nkuna.
The spokesperson for Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi, said the driver and a passenger died on the scene.

Four other passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby medical facility.
“We are sending condolences to the bereaved families. This is an unfortunate situation that resulted in the loss of two lives. Four victims have been hospitalised with serious injuries,” said Mmusi.

He added that the investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
