Burnt human remains found in Bushbuckridge

Bushbuckridge police have launched an inquest after finding burnt human remains.

The Bushbuckridge police have opened an inquest after human remains were discovered in the bushes of Boikhutso on September 30.

According to Bushbuckridge SAPS’s spokesperson, Sergeant Merilyne Mmonwa, the police were alerted by community members and officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.

“Upon arrival, we found brown sneakers next to the remains of what appears to be a victim who was burnt to death. An investigation into the matter has since been launched,” said Mmonwa.

She added that police are still working to identify the remains and trace the victim’s family, and appealed to the community for assistance.

Mmonwa urged anyone missing a loved one to come forward.
