Breaking News: Oxygen tank hit by a vehicle at Rob Ferreira Hospital in Mbombela

The accident caused a leak that has since been brought under control.

Reports indicate that a vehicle collided with an oxygen tank at Rob Ferreira Hospital in Mbombela tonight, February 2, prompting the closure of several roads in the surrounding area.

Traffic was diverted at the corner of Samora Machel and Madiba drives, as well as at the corner of Brown Street and Samora Machel Drive.

Martin Jeffrey of Emer-G-Med said there was no evacuation as the leak caused by the accident was brought under control.

“The problem there now is that the hospital does not have oxygen until the tank is repaired,” said Jeffrey.

This is a developing story.
