NELSPRUIT – The non-profit organisation, Mpumalanga Youth in Action held a
political review conference to discuss its first proposal, an outreach visit to
Clau Clau Village, at the Promenade Orion Hotel recently.
The whole team,
comprising 14 members, together with guest speakers, worked on a plan to give
hope to the Lowveld community.
The National House of Traditional Leaders,
Inkhosikati ES Mkhatshwa (chief of Mawewe Trust) and the Tshwane University of Technology’s student life and governance president, Menziwa Mbuyane also
attended the session. Event coordinator, Nokwazi Khoze was very happy with all the support it had received.
“We have decided to visit a village just outside Nelspruit on Friday August 2. The Alliance Church has identified two families in need of assistance,” she said.
“We want to change the stigma that the youth of today are lazy. We want them to join our movement to rejoice the name of our Heavenly Father,” said Khoze.
The team wanted to develop the skills of the youth in rural areas and teach them about the importance of acquiring tertiary education.
After the outreach a clean-up campaign had been planned for August 30. “We are going to team up with municipal and other non-governmental departments. We invite high schools to join our movement,” said founder, Phiwa Shongwe.
