Running for our rhino’s
On Saturday September 28 the final Run 4 Rhino Educational Fun Run was held at the LVCC sports ground in town.

Aimed at educating children about rhino conservation, the event reached 90 000 learners from the greater Mpumalanga region and gave the youngsters an opportunity to run with South Africa’s most accomplished middle distance runner, Zola Budd.
The goal of the project, co-sponsored by Metropolitan, was to reach the rural communities and the children.
Keen young runners from Mooiplaas, Bushbuckridge as well as Loskop Dam in Mpumalanga partook in the fun run. All participants received medals, while the top winners from these areas received additional trophies and state-of-the-art running shoes, sponsored by Newton Running SA and Zola Budd-Pieterse. Top runners from the competition will be selected to join Zola Budd’s running clinic for further development.
