The 10 potjies at this year’s MOTH October Potjiekos competition presented a taste for every palate. From the tasty Denningvleis pot served by the Moths, and carefully prepared by Dave Walters, to the creamy chicken pot of Anton Thornhill of Numbi Auto, none lacked in flavour.
VENTSure prepared a Portuguese menu with a delectable Trinchado potjie, and the judges enjoyed NTT Toyota’s offering of tripe and a chicken-heart starter.
The judges were treated to a homemade lemonade by the Rudamans team, accompanying their tasty “coyote stew”.
Entertainment for cooks and guests was provided by Malcolm Sands and the Stevenson Hamilton Pipe Band.
This successful event was made possible by the Mpumalanga Shellhole, Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre and Gumtreez Pub & Grill.
All teams were in effect prize winners, but the following three received top honours for their concoctions, namely Digisys first Metropolitan Life second and NTT Toyota White River third with their tripe potjie.
