Clever kids awarded at honour-roll even
Kumon held its first advanced students honour-roll function on Friday November 15.
MALALANE – Kumon held its first advanced students honour-roll function on Friday November 15.
This has been the first year that its pupils in South Africa studied on an international level, Kumon International Standard (KIS).
Kumon Africa made the decision at the end of 2012 to join the global community of 4 243 000 learners. Although it was a big jump, the pupils did their best to achieve the new set goals.
At Malelane, six of them were on KIS for maths and two for English.
Kumon believes in awarding learners who work above their curriculum levels. Congratulations to all those who received bronze medals and certificates. They are: Danielle Poulton (maths and English), Henk Bezuidenhout (maths), Simone Cronje (maths), Danielle Scheepers (maths) and Isabella Vieira (maths).
This year it also rewarded learners who excelled in certain aspects of the programme. Hanno van Deventer was the best correspondence student. Heinrich, Xander and Vian D’Hollander received the honours for best attendance. Lanika Leuvennink won the award for goalkeeper 2013 and Lana Bezuidenhout for best work skills.
Charl Marais earned a certificate for perseverence and Xander D’Hollander received the best progress award. Just for fun, Tristan Plath and Isabella Vieira were named Mr and Miss Congeniality. Congratulations to all the Kumon students.
