The innkeeper tells a story of great joy

The pupils of Penryn Foundation Phase tell the nativity story through the eyes of the Innkeeper in their nativity concert.

For the past few weeks a group of pupils of Penryn Foundation Phase diligently practised their lines for the school’s annual nativity concert. On Monday (November 25) they presented a dress rehearsal of the musical, The Innkeeper’s Breakfast, to a few parents, preschool classes and teachers.

The story is told from the innkeeper’s perspective and follows his experiences on the day Joseph and Mary knocked on his door. Besides the traditional appearance of the three wise men and shepherds, hula girls, cowboys and African dancers turn up at the inn.

A wide variety of talent were showcased, from the brilliant acting of the innkeeper (Zakhiti Shube), to hip-hop dancing of a group of boys to the angelic voices providing the soundtrack for the musical.

Parents and friends are invited to the concert performances at the Penryn Chapel tonight and tomorrow night at 18:00. Enquiries: Penryn on
