Inmates successfully complete a week-long discipleship course

Back to the Bible Training College (BBTC), with its vision “Africa for Jesus” is proving time and time again that it practises what they preach.

Only recently, rector of BBTC, Prof Shai Mulder, awarded certificates to 65 men at Med B Prison in town. This was after a one-week discipleship course which was conducted by Dr Elreza Mulder and Rev Morris Semakezi of the college.

During the sermon, which was done by Rev Brookman Aidoo from Ghana, 12 inmates accepted Jesus Christ as their lord and saviour.

As part of the proceedings, and to the delight of the inmates, 118 students and staff from the BBTC performed songs in different languages. For the past 13 years, college staff members have been piloting Bible lessons and counselling sessions for the inmates.

“We believe that many of them have rehabilitated and face a new life. Our thanks and appreciation goes to Buscor, which transported us there and also to Barberton Mines, which printed the course manuals,” said Mulder.
