BURGERSFORT – A local woman, Lucia Mosoma (30), has made history by becoming the first person in Limpopo to take part in the South Africa’s Ultimate Brand Ambassador (Sauba) competition.
Sauba is a mentorship and leadership programme for women aged 18 to 35, and it is in its second season. Mosoma said she first heard of the competition while she was surfing the Internet. “After seeing it, I requested more information and ended up applying. Today I’m happy cause I have made it to the finalists.”
She pleaded with the people of Tubatse to support her in her quest to win the competition. ”The finalists get an opportunity to co-write a motivational book about their journey during the competition. The book is titled Prepare to Learn, Release & Receive. I wish to fly the Limpopo flag high. I have a passion and love for writing and I am also excellent in motivational speaking,” she said.
She asked locals to help her become one of the best leaders in the country, as the programme also enhanced leadership skills. Mosoma urged them to vote for her in order to win the title. To vote for Mosoma, SMS SAUBA 6 to 36009.
She encouraged local youths to be involved in the development of their communities and to utilize opportunities at their disposal. “We need to make a difference in other people’s lives. Believe in yourself in order to succeed. We don’t have to look down on ourselves; instead we must grab opportunities without excuses.Work hard in silence, let the success be your noise.”
She concluded by encouraging girls to enter the competition in its third season. The contestants in the competition were handpicked from a search that took place throughout South Africa earlier this year. The aim of the show was to interlink social and corporate sectors while benefiting local communities and different charities.
The drive of this reality competition is youth, social and economic development. Enquiries: www.sauba.co.za
