Motorists urged to be wary after three suspects hijack victims

On Saturday, November 15 at about 17:00 a 25-year-old woman and man was hijacked at gunpoint.

MANGWENI – On Saturday, November 15 at about 17:00 a 25-year-old woman and man was hijacked at gunpoint.

According to Lt Mzwandile Nyambi they were approached by three unknown men and one of them pointed a firearm at the victims.

The suspects tied the victims up and drove to a sugar-cane plantation where they searched them for valuables and took personal items such as bank cards, clothing cards, a driver’s licence and an undisclosed amount of cash.

“The suspects then left the victims there and fled the scene with the stolen car, a silver Hyundai. A case of hijacking has been opened at Tonga SAPS,” said Nyambi.
