Suspect sought in rape case
Police are on the lookout for an unknown African male who raped a 19-year-old woman on Sunday November 9 at Tonga Nkomazi Bridge.

TONGA – Police are on the lookout for an unknown African male who raped a 19-year-old woman on Sunday November 9 at Tonga Nkomazi Bridge.
The victim was on her way home from a local tavern at about 03:30 when she encountered a man who offered to accompany her.
The suspect refused to take no for an answer and accompanied her against her will. When they reached the bridge, the man held the victim at knifepoint and instructed her to lie down.
He then undressed and raped her before fleeing the scene with her cellphone. A case of rape has been opened at Tonga Police Station and is under investigation.
Police request anyone with information that could lead to an arrest, to contact Capt Sipho Mkhathswa on 079-501-5053.
Spokesman for Tonga police, Lt Mzwandile Nyambi, has warned women and children not to walk in the streets alone at night as they are then considered at their most vulnerable.
