Greenskeeper gets even with Kambaku golfers

Golfers have been putting divots in the fairways, splashes in the sand, and hitting the greens a little too hard. One day a year, the greens keeper gets her revenge.

Golfers have been chopping divots in the fairways, splashes in the sand, and hitting the greens a little too hard. One day a year, the greenskeeper gets her revenge.

She has the opportunity to fill the Kambaku Golf Course with outlandish props and crazy surprises for an unforgettable day of revenge.

On Saturday December 6, Danel Botha arranged different competitions in one game, like better ball scramble and American scramble. The second nine were played first. Players said it was real tough. All the golfers had to play in green and those who didn’t, had to pay a fine of R20 each.

She was complimented for the good condition of the course by Ruhan Greyvenstein. Harry van Dyk made an appeal to golfers to obey the rules and keep the course in this good state, especially with the golf carts. Members were asked to stop 15 metres from the greens to avoid any damage.

Thomas Edward Aiken a South African professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and Sunshine Tour, also took part in the fun day at Kambaku.

In May 2011, Aiken won his first event on the European Tour at the Open de España, winning by two strokes from Anders Hansen. Aiken had his second European Tour win at the 2013 Avantha Masters.

He has participated several times in the Gary Player Invitational Charity Tournament.
