No taste of victory for Phiva Young Stars

It was bitter-sweet weekend for the teams representing Nkomazi in the ABC Motsepe League. Phiva Young Stars suffered a 1-0 loss on Saturday afternoon when they hosted Acornbush United FC at KaMhlushwa Stadium.
Despite the hosts finding the back of Acornbush United FC’s net shortly after the opening goal, it was not allowed because of an offside call by the third official. Phiva Younga Stars were pressed for an equaliser and did not give up.
However, Acornbush United FC were disciplined in the midfield allowing Phiva Young Stars few chances in their half. Teams went into the half-time interval with the scoreline favouring the visitors.

Phiva Young Stars’ attacks were only kept out by the resilient Acornbush United FC’s defence. The game ended 1-0 in favour of the visitors.
Meanwhile, Mlambo Royal Cubs, were also in action in an away game against Godchosen FC at KaNyamazane Stadium. Things went well for Mlambo Royal Cubs who came back home with an impressive 2-0 victory over their opponents.
Acornbush United FC now sit comfortably with 17 points at the top of the ABC Motsepe League log, with Phiva Young Stars in the sixth spot with 13 points, and Mlamblo Royal Cubs in 11th place with eight points.
