Mrs Mpumalanga crowned

Each woman described herself as a devoted wife, loving mother and strong businesswoman who wanted to make a difference in her community.

MBOMBELA – Our very first Mrs Mpumalanga was crowned at a glamorous affair at Nou’s Toeka on Saturday evening.
Organiser, Jacques Lombard of The Timeless Group said this was definitely one of the most challenging tasks he had had to face, but by far one of the best. The six finalists were dressed to the nines as they took to the ramp. Among the audience members there were friends and family who came to support their loved ones.

The finalists, Ira Pillay, Diana Jansen, Bianca Rennison, Portia Khumalo Lukhele, Salome de Wet and Jean Karabelo Mohlala, came from as far as Witbank, Graskop and Sabie with three locals also competing for the coveted title. Each finalist had to introduce themselves to a panel of well-known judges and to give panelists an insight into their lives. Each woman described herself as a devoted wife, loving mother and strong businesswoman who wanted to make a difference in her community. A delicious three-course meal was served while the talented Tobi Jooste entertained the crowd with a few classics.

The finalists graced the stage one last time dressed in beautiful white gowns where they had to answer a few tough questions posed by judges. It was clear that these experts had quite a decision to make.
After deliberating long and hard, Ira Pillay was crowned as second princess, Salome de Wet as first princess and the very first Mrs Mpumalanga is Diana Jansen of Witbank. Jansen is a physiotherapist and businesswoman who has recently joined the Performance Booster Team. She is a mother of two beautiful children and it was clear that her husband was her greatest supporter.

She will now represent the province and be an ambassador for The Timeless Group. She will also represent South Africa next year at the Mrs World Pageant. It was a first for the Lowveld, but according to Lombard, this will become an annual event.
