Robbers return to victim’s home where he is murdered
Barely a month after robbers broke into the home of Mr Dan Mabuza (45), they returned and fired three shots at him in bed.
MZINTI – Barely a month after robbers broke into the home of Mr Dan Mabuza (45), they returned and fired three shots at him in bed.
On January 8 two suspects wanted for robbery entered Mabuza’s house, tied up his son and put him in the spare room. The suspects then proceeded to steal some of the family’s belongings.
This week, around 01:30 on February 8, allegedly two unknown suspects broke into Mabuza’s homestead while he was asleep alongside his wife.
The suspects fired three gun- shots directly at Mabuza and immediately fled the scene.
Police and emergency service personnel were summoned to the scene, however, the victim was confirmed dead on the scene.
“It is not clear what the suspects took and the motive of the killing is not yet known. A case of murder has been opened at the Tonga Police Station and it is under investigation,” Lt Mzwandile Nyambi said, spokesman for the SAPS.
Police are also still investigating a case of house robbery concerning the Mabuza household.
