Motorbike stolen in early morning hours from complex

LYDENBURG – A red 2003-model Yamaha R1 motorbike was stolen from Bergview Complex on April 26 sometime between 12:00 to 03:00.
Mr JD van der Westhuizen, the owner of the motorbike, said that the suspects managed to remove the electric gate from its track to gain access to the complex. He added that the motorcycle was securely stored.
“They weren’t able to start the motorbike while it was locked and I had the keys, so I suspect they had to push it out of the complex,” he said.
Van der Westhuizen questioned the other tenants in the complex to find out if they saw anything, but everyone was fast asleep at that time.
He opened a theft case at Lydenburg Police Station. Anyone with information about the crime can contact him on 063-355-7694.
The stolen motorbike has a shortened exhaust pipe, a dent on the petrol tank and the rear fender has a big scratch in the middle.
