Goat n Hare treat fans to good rock

The rock band, comprising mother and son, two other guitarists and a drummer, shifted through a number of old-school classics as well as its own composition.

Local band, Goat n Hare, rocked its fans’ socks off on Friday night at The Pub in Mbombela.

This music outfit promised a progression performance from blues and old-school rock to hard rock, and it sure did deliver.

Fans jammed to the music that came with a little bit of storytelling in-between, adding to the band’s blend of acoustic and electric soul which excited the spectators.

How the band got its name, Goat n Hare, is a source of much curiosity. Band leader, and lead sing, Mize Principle said she was give the name “Lokwatsha”, which is siSwati for hare when she arrived at the Lowveld. After her son joined her she said he was given the nickname “Mbuzi”, which is goat.

They then decided to add the two names together when forming their band.

“We used to play for charity in the beginning and it was an on-and-off thing. People loved our music and we decided that we should start the group since we received such positive feedback,” said Principle.

After this spellbinding performance, fans will be delighted to know the group will perform at Stoep on Friday during Innibos.
