Musicians from all over are coming together to Save the Strat

MBOMBELA- Local bands are collaborating to raise funds for one of their own with a music event, Save the Strat. The Pub is hosting the concert, which kicks off at noon tomorrow. The event was sparked when full-time musician Hans Bronkhorst put his beloved electric guitar, a Fender Stratocaster, up for sale on Facebook. The funds would allow him to tour beyond the Lowveld and so create a sustainable career, but losing the instrument would be an artistic setback and a personal loss. The beefy line-up includes 12 acts, ranging from new voices like Keri Culver, to Lowveld classics like Gibraltar. Tickets cost R80, or R100 at the door. Enquiries: 013-755-4861.
