WATCH: Dineo moves toward land

Lowvelder has heard reports from people living on the coast of Mozambique about the current weather conditions. "Dineo" is coming.

Jacqui Wessels got in touch with Lowvelder from Tofo, Mozambique. She sent us this video:

She also had this to say: “We have done the best we can to protect ourselves. We have packed away all important documents and stored precious items at the bottom of our (property) in the garage. It is scary as you don’t quite know how bad it will be.”

Another member of the public, Barry Christie, whose parents own a small lodge in Pomene, sent the paper a message this morning.

“(My parents’) employee sent a message that the sea birds have moved inland into the bushes and are hiding. (It is ) amazing how these animals sense that something severe is coming. They are apparently already experiencing some winds, but not severe yet, and it is raining there,” Christie wrote.

Other Mozambican residents have posted photos on their Facebook pages.
