Video: UMP students strike over study debt

Students at the University of Mpumalanga have barricaded the entrance and are currently protesting. Watch the video of their demands here.

MBOMBELA – Students at the University of Mpumalanga (UMP) are striking after claiming that the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) told them that part of their student fees would be covered by NSFAS.

Some of the students recently found out that they are in debt for fees of 2016, that was supposed to be covered. The students claimed that some of them were kicked out of Student Residence because they now owe money.
