Stolen Toyota bakkie found near Klipkopje Dam

A bakkie, believed to have been stolen in Calcutta in January this year, was recovered near Klipkopje Dam last week.

According to Mr Albert Gryvenstein of Bossies Community Justice, the tracking device on the vehicle activated, which led to the recovery.

“The bakkie was on the back of a trailer, stripped beyond recognition,” he said.

“It is believed that the bakkie was to be delivered to a panel beater in Mbombela,” said Gryvenstein.

The only way in which the vehicle could be identified was through the tracking device, as the chassis number did not corresponded with that of the vehicle.

“It was impounded for further investigation,” he concluded.
