Much-needed donation welcomed

The organisation also needs kitten milk, as most of the little ones they find have feral mothers and are only four weeks old.

MALALANE – Love 4 Claws, a local organisation helping feral and abandoned cats, will be able to feed more underfed felines thanks to a donation of food from RCL Foods.

The town has a large feral cat population and Love 4 Claws has been trying to reduce the numbers for the past year.

It aims to sterilise all these animals in Malalane and surrounds, and is aided by the local animal clinic. With the help of the animal clinic and Pro-Life Pet Rescue in Mbombela, it manged to save, rehabilitate and home 70 kittens and sterilise more than 40 cats since November last year.

Many of the feral or abandoned cats in town are underfed and in a bad state of health, so the donation of food is sorely needed.

The organisation also needs kitten milk, as most of the little ones they find have feral mothers and are only four weeks old.

Community members who would like to help Love 4 Claws can drop food off at Malelane Vetshop and Malelane Dierekliniek or deposit a donation into the latter’s bank account which will go towards the sterilisation of the cats.
