The love of boerewors wins two men bikes

Two lucky winners went home with brand-spanking-new 125cc pit bikes after their names were drawn in the competition organised by Crown National in conjunction with Rudy's and SUPERSPAR.

MBOMBELA – Shoppers were encouraged to buy two packs of Rudy’s famous boerewors and one packet of his original-recipe braai spice from The Grove and Crossing SUPERSPARS, write their names and contact details on their receipts and place them in the lucky-draw boxes placed in each store.

Crown National manufactures Rudy’s braai spice, and also sponsored the two pit bikes for the competition.

Although both winners were grown men and the bikes may be a little small for their use, Crown Nationals’ general manager, Roland Smit, said the competition was “about the kids for a change”, and a way to thank loyal customers for their support.

Fortunately, both Kobus Smit, who was the happy Grove SUPERSPAR winner, and Marinus van der Merwe, who collected his prize at Crossing SUPERSPAR, have sons who will benefit from their parents’ shopping choices.

Smit told Lowvelder he is a loyal Rudy’s supporter and had bought some of the brand’s boerewors just the night before receiving the call about winning the grand prize.

Van der Merwe agreed, “The spice is really quite nice, but the boerewors has been a hit in our house for many years. My son turns 10 next month and has outgrown his last motorbike, so he will be the most excited about this prize.”
