Two arrested for possession of dagga worth R1,8 million

The pair were arrested on June 11 after Kaapmuiden police spotted their suspicious looking Isuzu double cab near Kaapmuiden railway.

KAAPMUIDEN – Two suspects aged 41 and 38 were recently found in possession of dagga worth an estimated value of R1,8 million.

The two, Mr Ndivhuwo Mukgwevu and Mashudu Mphephu from Venda have appeared before the Barberton Magistrate’s Court on charges of dealing in dagga.

They were each released on R2 000 bail.

Upon searching their car, police found eight compressed dagga bags weighing 108, 5 kg.

According to police, the suspects were coming from buying the dagga in Swaziland and heading to Venda

They will appear before the same magistrate’s court on August 10.
